The Sixth Month

Ceilings are boring.

So says Maggie.

[At least that's what Mommy thinks she says.]

Ceilings are so boring that little Miss Maggie has decided to learn how to sit up.

So now she looks at the walls instead.

Walls are much more interesting.

Seriously, though, it is fascinating to watch what captivates her attention now that she spends most of her days in the upright position. I can't imagine what it will be like when she is mobile and goes here, there, and everywhere.

But let's take our time with that.

At six months Maggie...
...weighs 16 pounds (46th percentile).
...is pretty tall for her age at 27 inches (87th percentile).
...is wearing 6-9 month sizes.
...sleeps for 13 hours at night with two feeds.
...soothes herself to sleep by kicking her right foot, singing, or stuffing a pacifier [or two] in her mouth.
...sleeps on her belly with her hands tucked under her waist.
...objects when toys are taken from her.
...has slept through 7 of 8 plane rides.
...laughs at the strangest things.
...enjoyed eating the sparkly wrapping paper during her first Christmas!
...loved spending the new year in Colorado with the Turners!
...had a great time being mesmerized by one of Mommy's good friends, Jenn, when she came to visit!
...eats like there is no tomorrow (rice cereal, banana, avocado, sweet potato, cauliflower).
...isn't quite sure what to do with a sippy cup.
...sits in her highchair and loves to bang things on the tray.
...prefers tags over actual toys.

Up next? Month seven.

xoxo
